About
Holly Halsey L.Ac., Dipl. Ac
Holly became an acupuncturist because of her own dramatic
results as a patient of Chinese medicine in 1984. After
seeing a stubborn health issue completely resolve in
a few weeks of treatment she was at once drawn to this
ancient healing art. Even as a new patient she began
to ask questions and ponder a profession in the healing
arts. With an educational background in the arts and
a professional background in business and sales Holly
began her studies as body worker at Body Mind College
in 1989 and began professional practice within a year.
After several years in practice she enrolled at the
Pacific College of Oriental Medicine ((PCOM) in San
Diego in 1993 for acupuncture and herbal medicine. Now
a Master of Traditional Oriental Medicine (MTOM, '98)
she is licensed and certified in acupuncture, massage
and herbal medicine both nationally (Dipl.Ac.) and in
the state of California (L.Ac.). She enthusiastically
continues her education in TCM and seeks to refine and
polish her incredible variety of skills. She is passionate
about her work and couldn’t be happier to be bringing
the benefits of TCM to her community.
Her rich bodywork background naturally leads her to
specialize in musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction of
many kinds including injuries, osteoarthritis, fybromyalgia,
TMJ, paralysis, neuropathies and post surgical pain.
She also uses acupuncture, Chinese 5-element massage,
and herbs to address anxiety, depression, and insomnia
thereby reducing the need for medications in many of
her patients. Her work offers an incredibly effective
alternative to women with nearly any type of reproductive
health issue including PMS, fertility, labor and delivery
assistance and menopausal symptoms.
A successful teacher as well since 2000, Holly enjoys
teaching bodywork and Chinese Medical Theory at both
Mueller College of Holistic Massage Therapies and Pacific College of
Oriental Medicine: San Diego Campus, Escondido
and Laguna Hills. She offers professional continuing
education workshops to her bodywork colleagues in Asian
Fire Cupping and Acu-Moxa Treatments as well as ongoing
classes in acupressure (Tui Na), acu-point location
and meridian theory, and assessment skills.
Holly has been an avid horsewoman since the age of
3. She currently rides and trains regularly as a student
of Dressage but enjoyed the thrill of Jumpers in her
youth. She looks forward to showing in First level dressage
in the 2005 season.
